Get Involved!

There are many opportunities to get involved with your neighborhood. Some things you can do on your own like taking a walk, arranging a neighborhood party, or organizing a cleanup. You may also participate in organized efforts, committees or clubs. Listed below is a sample of volunteer opportunities that may interest you.

Town Hall Volunteers

The Westwood Historical Society

The purpose of the Westwood Historical Society is to discover, preserve, and share the history of Westwood. The organization is still relatively new and is developing various projects and activities for members.

Although subject to change, the Society currently holds membership meetings 9 times per year on the second Wednesday of February, March, April, May, July, September, October, November, and December. Meeting information is generally published in the Western Hills Press.

Dues are listed at only $15 per household per year.

In addition to attending meetings, members can get involved by participating in the oral history project, walking tours, home tours, doing research, writing newsletter articles, helping with meeting refreshments, and hosting open houses at the Westwood Library. New members are welcome!

Recently reactivated, its mission has been to promote neighborhood businesses by organizing owners through membership, seeking funding sources for projects in the district and promoting the neighborhood at large to the Greater Cincinnati area.

In 2004 it applied and received funding totaling $17,000. A market study is currently being completed for the district. WestCURC is also managing a $9,000 grant from the City of Cincinnati to be used for business promotion and community events.
